Future Builders Mentorship Program
The Future Builders Mentorship Program is a paid, curriculum-based initiative designed to introduce high school students to professional careers in construction management, design, and the built environment. Over the course of eight sessions from March through May, students participate in engaging, hands-on lessons led by practicing construction professionals. The program combines technical industry knowledge with essential workplace skills—including communication, teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, and professionalism—to prepare students for future careers. Working alongside industry mentors, students explore a wide range of career paths through team projects, interactive activities, guest speakers, and exposure to real construction professionals. Future Builders helps students build confidence, expand their networks, and discover opportunities within one of Massachusetts' most dynamic industries.
Program Highlights
Participants gain a foundational understanding of construction management and the building process while exploring careers in architecture, engineering, construction management, contracting, skilled trades, virtual design, sustainability, and other related fields. Students work collaboratively on team-based projects with guidance from industry mentors, develop valuable workplace skills such as communication, leadership, teamwork, critical thinking, and presentation skills, and connect with professionals through guest speakers, company visits, and real-world learning experiences. Top participants may also be eligible for scholarships, special recognition, or future work-based learning opportunities.
For Students
The Future Builders Mentorship Program is designed for 11th-grade students who are interested in learning about careers in the construction industry. Students with an interest in architecture, engineering, construction management, contracting, skilled trades, CAD, clean energy, environmental science, or related fields are encouraged to participate. Whether you're planning to attend college, pursue a trade, or simply explore career options, Future Builders provides valuable insight into the many rewarding opportunities available in commercial construction.
