On Friday, December 15, AGC MA welcomes Lois Stanley, Director of Campus Planning and Taylan Ekici, Associate Director of Tufts Capital Renewal for our next Conversations with workshop.
Lois has led the campus planning office at Tufts University since 2010. Her team of architects, planners, and a data analyst is responsible for near-term space planning, programming for major projects, and longer-term campus master planning. Earlier this year, capital renewal planners joined her team in order to better link renovations required for academic programs with ongoing upgrades to campus facilities and infrastructure.
Lois has more than 15 years of experience in planning and managing a wide variety of capital projects, including science and engineering labs, residential housing, classrooms, and office space. Prior to joining Tufts University, she worked as both a planner and a project manager at Harvard University. Lois earned doctorate and master?s degrees in urban planning from MIT and Georgia Tech, respectively, and a bachelor?s degree in management from Virginia Tech.
Taylan manages capital renewal planning at Tufts University. He is responsible for ongoing facility assessment for University?s vertical, horizontal assets and tracks the Facility Condition Index as part of his role at Tufts. As a construction industry professional, he confronts constant challenges due to aging of buildings and infrastructures against evolving program requirements of higher education.
Taylan has more than 15 years of experience in planning, design and construction of ground up and renovation projects at public and privately funded projects/programs. He joined Tufts in 2014, prior to joining Tufts University, he worked for Arcadis; a global design, engineering and consultancy firm. Taylan holds a bachelor's, a master's degree in architecture and a master of project management degree from Northwestern University.
