• Boston Construction Managers Safety Professionals

  • The Boston CMSP is a group of experienced and passionate safety professionals from the leading general contractors in the Boston region.  Their mission is to align general contractors on key issues that impact the safety of construction trades people in the Boston area. This mission will be achieved by:

    • determining key issues that will improve efficiency and consistency among Boston's subcontractor base in regards to the execution of safety

    • developing strategies, policies and practices that create consistent and streamlined execution of safety on construction projects across all general contractors

    • engaging experienced and expert personnel from Boston's trade representatives, trades people and subcontractor core to aid in the development of these strategies, policies and procedures

    • implementing  these strategies, policies and procedures across all of the CMSP members' projects.


    The existing structure of the board is comprised of a Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary

    Chair, Jason Edic, Lee Kennedy Company, Inc.

    Jason has led health and safety programs for construction managers and owners alike, giving him a well-rounded perspective on construction safety.

    Jason served as Manager of Harvard University’s Environmental Health & Safety Construction Services Group. In this capacity, Jason developed and implemented the University’s Construction EH&S program, Contractor Safety Assessment Program and Substance Abuse Prevention Program.

    Secretary, Derek Lines, John Moriarty and Associates

    Derek has been in the industry for 19 years.  He began his career with John Moriarty and Associates in 1999 as a project safety manager. While serving as a project safety manager he was responsible for developing and executing health and safety plans and preparing and enforcing policies to establish a culture of health and safety. In 2001 he took over the role of Director of Safety and Health.

    Derek also sits on various committees with AGC MA. He is a graduate of Keene State College where he received his bachelor's degree in Safety and Occupational Health Applied Sciences in 1997.
