AGC Student chapters score victories at the AGC/ASC competitions recently
Roger Williams University and Wentworth Institute of Technology were winners in multiple competitions at the annual AGC/ASC Student Chapter competition in Las Vegas last month. The national competition matches the best student teams from across the country. These students have already won their regional competition. The teams are given a period of time to problem solve a scenario that can occur on a job site or within the preconstruction efforts.
This year Roger Williams University’s Design-Build team captured 3rd place in its division. The Heavy Highway team from RWU competed for the first time at the national level and had an exceptional showing. This was the sixth consecutive year that the RWU’s Design-Build team captured first place (and a national competition invitation) in its region.

Design-Build team includes three CM students and three Architecture students - Dana Niro, Danielle Dorsey (captain), Nicholas Belmont, Zev O’Brien Gould, Cintia Hayashi, and Matthew Tyler. The faculty advisor is Professor Fred Gould.

Six students from Wentworth’s Construction Management program scored second place in the national competition for the Commercial Building Division.
Team members were Mike Gawendo, Adam Woods, Steve Gelinas, Joe Wayne, Nick Rouleau, Jared Crowley and Coach Prof. Scott Sumner.
