Reporting to the Accounting Manager & Controller at our One Post Office Square location.  This position will focus primarily on the financial operations of our new Construction Markets (Philadelphia and San Francisco) as well as on our existing markets (Boston, Washington, DC and Chicago). You will have daily interaction with construction managers & the operations management team. An ideal candidate has construction or real estate knowledge and is extremely detail oriented with strong prioritization skills

Responsibilities

  • Monitor client billings and collections.
  • Weekly review and approval of accounts payable invoices.  Includes verifying Construction's policies and guidelines relating to authorization limits, insurance requirements, lien waiver, sales tax, bonds, payment from Owner are met.
  • Daily cash management and general ledger maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with relative Owner and Subcontractor contract agreements and with state sales tax laws.
  • Analyze new vendors for any financial risk • Review of department Overhead expenses for accuracy.
  • Monthly job cost maintenance and reporting.
  • Provide support related to job close outs including review of JCA's and preparation of analysis related to job performance.
  • Responsible for reconciliation of month end reports • Help compile documentation for month end and quarter end checklists • Prepare monthly/quarterly use tax filings • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley internal control procedures • Daily communication with Construction Managers and the Operations Staff regarding project details and other business matters • Work on other special projects and reporting as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in accounting and/or finance preferred
  • 2+ years of accounting experience       
  • Construction / real estate knowledge is preferred • Strong detail orientation • Prioritization skills • Excellent written and oral communications skills • Computer proficiency in Excel • Knowledge and experience using Solomon, Lotus Notes, and PeopleSoft is a plus
