Lean 2- Design and Construction
The objectives for this program are to detail how to infuse lean practices of design and construction into your projects and the traps to avoid, based on fifteen years of lean project experience. The program will introduce participants to Target-Value Design and the Last Planner® System. The session will conclude by looking at the actions you can take to start the lean practice of continuous process improvement based on Dr. W. Edwards Deming's Plan → Do → Study →Act cycle of improvement and the lessons learned by those who have already started their lean practice.
About the Instructor
Hal Macomber is a Principal of Lean Project Consulting, Inc. His focus is on project leadership and organization transformation in a lean environment with special attention to Integrated Project Delivery.
He has been collaborating with Greg Howell, one of the founders of the Lean Construction Institute, for over 10 years investigating what distinguishes lean projects from usual projects.
Hal studied economics and operations research and received his MBA from Boston University in operations management. His career-long preoccupation with operations effectiveness has led to numerous innovations including Study-Action Teams™, distinguishing Target-Value Design, and creating Responsibility-based Project Delivery™.
