AGC continues its Lean Construction program with a second workshop on February 24
On January 27th AGC held an introductory workshop for members and guests on Lean Construction principles. A second and distinct session will take place on February 24 at AGC's Conference Center in Wellesley. The instructor for the program, Hal Macomber, will delve into Total Value Design and Last Planner methods. More owners are using Lean principles within their operations and are beginning to seek this process in their projects as well. McGraw Hill and Turner Building Cost Index Show Increase in Non-residential Building
In a release this week, McGraw Hill noted an 11 percent increase in non residential building in 2011 over 2010. Turner's Vice President Karl Almstead in releasing fourth quarter 2011 results stated, "Commodity and materials prices although stable are putting slight upward pressure on prices.
