Safety Services
Whether you are a small constructor seeking specialized training, a construction manager looking for safety oversight, or a large contractor firm needing short-term safety support, AGC can benefit your firm.
Subcontractors as well need to invest in the safety of their people. Since OSHA no longer limits its citations solely to the contractor under the general duty clause, subcontractors run the risk of being cited for safety violations also.
The safety group can provide you and your staff with a variety of safety services easily arranged at your office, on your site, or at the AGC Conference Center.
Contact Chris Ziegler at 781-235-2680, ext. 12 to find out more about the services and options available.
AGC/OSHA CHASE Program
The AGC/OSHA CHASE Program gives AGC-member contractor's incentives for demonstrating the highest safety standards and practices used in the construction industry. The program is the result of a series of lengthy negotiations with OSHA, the Massachusetts Building Trades Council, labor representatives and the AGC of Massachusetts Safety Committee.
This program was formally implemented on October 1, 2003 and any constructor member firm is welcome to apply at the start of each calendar quarter (October, January, April, July). All firms will be required to re-apply for status one year from the date that they initially entered the program. A review committee of five Safety committee members has been selected. This Committee will review applications, supporting documents, qualifying and verification inspections and meet with the AGC Director of Safety and OSHA periodically to resolve any issues or changes to the program.

AGC Legal Helpline
The Legal Helpline has been developed to provide your firm with legal expertise from some of the finest law firms in the area. This expertise is available to you - at no cost - for three 15 minute conversations annually.
Identify yourself as an AGC member firm when you initially call to take advantage of this benefit. Most, if not all, firms allow leeway on the 15-minute period and use this as a general guideline for such service. Any follow-up to these initial conversations may be mutually arranged between the member contractor firm and the Associate law firm.

OSHA Helpline
As contractor members, many of you have devoted a great deal of time, energy and expertise to maintain a safety program for the well being of your employees. We all know that the construction industry is inherently one of the most dangerous industries in which to work. Due to its very nature and its high visibility, it is the most common target for OSHA inspections.
The questions is: What do you do to mitigate the inspection process and the potentially serious consequences for violations and penalties that can be imposed upon your company? The AGC OSHA HELPLINE has been established to assist you with legal advice and suggestions on how to guide you through this process. There is no cost or obligation on your part for the call.
