Summary

LEED Green Associate Exam Prep provides a comprehensive summary of the information needed to pass the LEED Green Associate exam.

The object of this course is to prepare you to take the exam for the LEED Green Associate by introducing you to the principles of LEED 3.0 standards and procedures, the requirements for the new Green Associate (GA) and the updated rating systems and categories.

In 2009, the US Green Building Council instituted new procedures and rating systems for both the individual and for certifying buildings.  For those individuals who wish to become accredited, the first step is to pass the Green Associate exam.  Once that has been accomplished, an individual may go on to the Accredited Professional exam.  This course is a prep course for the Green Associate exam.

Course detail
The course will begin with an overview of the LEED program and various rating systems along with information on the LEED registration and certification processes.  The session also will provide details on various cost assessment tools to evaluate sustainable strategies.

It will continue with a review of the credit categories of the LEED program including: Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency and Energy and Atmosphere.  The intent and associated implementation strategies of these LEED credit categories will be discussed.

The course will finish up covering Materials & Resources and Indoor Environmental Quality credit categories with a focus on the LEED BD&C and Existing Buildings Operations and Maintenance rating systems.  The course will cover strategies and requirements including construction waste management, selection of building materials, ventilation, thermal and lighting controls and toxins in building materials.  The session will also include a look at the construction and operations phases of a LEED project and review the most important referenced standards included in the LEED program.  The final hours will be spent going through review questions to give class participants a better understanding of what to expect from the exam.

MCAP Contributors All MCAP-contributing firms will receive 50% reimbursement of their registration fees - up to a maximum of $2000 per program, after full registration is paid to AGC. Attendance is required for reimbursement.
