"Federal Government Contracting - the Basics of Landing and Executing Construction Work for the Federal Government."The Construction Practice Group of Holland & Knight will discuss what it takes to win the project and then build it within the requirements set forth by the government. If you have never worked for the federal government or have not done federal work in a long time, this workshop is for you. The program will give you the tools necessary to develop intelligent decisions when chasing this type of work. The session will discuss how to get work, how to deal with FAR and other administrative and project management processes that the federal government imposes upon you; how the payment process works and other contract issues. There will be a Q&A session but if you have specific questions that you would like addressed, please forward to Mary Gately at gately@agcmass.org. Paul M. James is a Partner with the national Construction Industry Practice Group of Holland & Knight and resides in the firm's Boston office where he serves as the Regional Practice Group Leader. Mr. James concentrates his practice in construction law and litigation and alternative dispute resolution. Stanley A. Martin is a member of the Construction Industry Practice Group of Holland & Knight. He concentrates his practice in construction law, with an emphasis on contract negotiations, procurement, performance and claims, arbitration and litigation. Building on his experience representing contractors, public and private owners, architects, engineers and construction managers. Stephen B. Shapiro has developed extensive legal experience in all aspects of construction procurement, administration, claims, government contract and construction litigation, proposal preparation, bid protests, contract management, regulatory compliance and subcontractor, supplier and surety relations.
